This is the beginning of third week of our slow and steady weight loss journey. If you have been following the last 2 weeks advice, you would now be drinking 2 glasses of water as soon as you get up and doing your few minutes of exercise routine.

In this week, we are going to think about fuelling our bodies in the morning.
Are you one of those who rush out in a tearing hurry without so much as a glance into your kitchen. As your stomach rumbles in protest in office, you head for your morning cup of steaming coffee.
While you are doing this, lets see how your body is managing:
Your body is waiting for you to feed it the moment you open your eyes in the morning. Imagine a dog following you around for its food. Thats your stomach watching you with big hopeful eyes.
Your glucose reserves are running low and your stomach is geared up to digest whatever you throw at it.
In this eager state, when the hunger demons have not yet knocked on your door, it is the best time to have a nutritious meal. The food will have all day to move through your body and all the goody nutrients will get easily absorbed.
Do NOT waste this opportunity by consuming a caffeine sludge or fibre-less trite.
Take your vitamin rich and minerals packed dose before stepping out the door.
myhealthlists .com has listed great quick breakfasts that might fit in your busy morning. If you don’t have even 5 minutes, grab a fruit to have in route to office.
Have something, there can be no excuse!
Will this help me in weight loss?!
Yes and No!
Yes, because you are starting up your metabolic cycle and that too with nutritious food! Your digestive system is now geared in and brain is not sending out SOS for a junk snack.
and No because it also depends on how much and what you are eating for the rest of the day 😐
But what if I am not hungry in the morning?!
We all have different wiring and what works for one might not work for all. You might not get hunger pangs in the morning, but having a glass of milk does not take much appetite. Yes?
Have a glass of milk or an apple or a slice of wholewheat bread with peanut butter toast before you leave home.
You should not be surprised if you feel hungry again mid morning as your digestive engine is in full throttle. You can now have your coffee or, if you are going whole hog on healthy living, keep a box of nuts in your drawer – almonds, walnuts can do amazing things for your body. Have only a few though. 5-6 is fine, as these calories all quickly add up.
You only have to quieten the hunger monster until lunch time, not give it a mid morning feast 🙂
But I have already consumed 2 meals before noon! What about the rest of the day!?
When you are trying to lose weight, it is best to have mini meals throughout the day rather than having big meals 3 times a day. So you have had a great start!
You know how you used to feel starved and drained of energy by evening?! Well, your mini meals should fix that feeling of exhaustion soon.
Give it time, you body is also adapting to your new ways.
Until next week, Happy Break-fasting!
